ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE COMMITTEE
The National Music Council is dedicated to cultivating a thriving and welcoming music community where every voice is valued and every creator has the opportunity to contribute and excel. History has shown that the broadest range of perspectives and experiences fuels the creativity that propels music forward.

Ensuring fair access to resources, education, and opportunities—particularly for young artists and performers—is fundamental to advancing the power of music as a unifying and transformative force. These principles are central to our mission as we continue to champion, preserve, and expand the profound positive influence of America’s unique musical heritage both at home and abroad.

To this end, the NMC is pleased to introduce our newly formed Organizational Culture Committee. This committee was established to champion the highest levels of fairness and accessibility within the music community, ensuring that a broad range of voices are heard and represented. The committee is led by Tinisha Burgess, Sr. Director of Product Development at HFA/Rumblefish, who the NMC membership elected as the organization’s first Organizational Culture Committee chair.
To achieve our mission, we have outlined several key initiatives for the upcoming year:

NMC Member Recruitment
We aim to expand our membership by actively recruiting individuals from the broadest possible spectrum of perspectives. This effort will bring a variety of opinions and experiences to our council, enhancing our collective strength and reach.

Education Initiatives
We are establishing partnerships with other music organizations to develop educational programs focused on promoting accessibility to information and opportunities throughout our community.

Website Enhancements
Our website will feature a new section dedicated to organizational culture initiatives.

NMC Newsletter Enhancements
The NMC Newsletter will include a dedicated organizational culture section. This section will introduce the Organizational Culture Committee, outline our goals, and highlight initiatives from our member organizations. We believe that sharing these stories and practices will inspire and inform our community concerning positive cultural and economic growth.
